Adoptable Dogs

When you adopt a dog from Chain of Hope, you are giving a dog a second chance at life. We bring in some of the worse neglect and abuse cases in Kansas City, MO. You will be amazed at the transformation a dog goes through from suffering on a chain to now living in your home where they don’t have to worry about when their next meal will be. They will give you nothing but unconditional love.

We do charge an adoption fee since most of the cases we bring in require extensive medical needs. The adoption fee also helps keep our doors open so that we may continue on with our mission.

Chain of Hope’s adoption fees:

  • Puppies 1 and under – $250

  • Dogs between 1 and 10 – $200

  • Seniors 10 and up – $100

I am a little pitty hippo, but who doesn't like a little extra lovin? I am so extremely happy that I have been saved that I show appreciation to everything! Hi, I'm Finn! I am the cutest little black puppy that is so grateful I was saved! Chain of Hope was trying to help my momma for a while, but the people wouldn't budge. All of my siblings were given away, but Chain of Hope kept pushing and got me. I am SO thankful! For my age, I am really small. I am probably about 2-3 months old and needed some TLC to grow, but now that I am in a foster home, I am getting all the TLC I need. I am a sweet boy and would make the perfect addition to any family. If you are looking for a new puppy, look at me! Currently in Foster home and doing amazing! Hi, I'm Jerry! I am the smallest and only one of a litter of four still looking for a forever home. I was found at a very young age and Chain of Hope has been raising me to become a great house cat. I am playful and mischievous, but what little kitten isn't? Out of all of my siblings, I am the one with only one eye. We do not know what happened, but we know that I cannot see out of my left eye, but that's not going to stop me from being a wonderful family cat! If you are looking to add a cat to your home, I would be perfect! Adoption fee includes neuter, microchip, and all vaccinations. View full description »

Hi, We are Birdie and Zeke - the bonded pair house cats of Chain of Hope. We have lived at Chain of Hope for years and have loved being the top cats in charge. We have met many dogs, cats, and people throughout our years at Chain of Hope, but its time for us to retire. The constant changing environment is starting to cause us to stress a little bit, so its better for us to get into a home together and have a little peace and relaxation. (Clearly retirement!) Birdie is a cross eyed, female yellow tabby that is as sweet as they come. Zeke is a male grey tabby that is truly the boss, but becomes quite the softy for cuddles and Friskies lil soups. They are both pretty independent, but love to be cuddled with and sometimes held. They are great with dogs, other cats, and all people. View full description »

Hi, I'm Franny! I am a terrier mix that has been in some tough situations. I have been bounced around from house to house and was never given the love I needed. I was scared, confused, and didn't know what was happening the day that Chain of Hope came to rescue me. Little did I know, that was the beginning of a new life for me! It took me a few days to get acclimated. I was terrified and no one had ever showed me love before, so I didn't know what it felt like. After a few days, I allowed some of the Chain of Hope people in and I have been a different dog ever since! I am still slow to warm up, but I am definitely learning to trust people and that they are there to love me. I am good with other dogs and am so excited to find my new forever home. I love to give kisses and sit in your lap, just to show you how grateful I am! I love to play with other dogs and would love a doggy sibling. Hi, my name is Apollo! You may have seen some of my photos when I was first rescued by Chain of Hope. My story and the pictures were pretty sad, but I am healed and love to be around people. See back in the winter, Chain of Hope was called, and I was almost frozen to death. I lived a life outside (even during cold months) and when it was in the negatives, I basically was frozen and extremely malnourished. Luckily, Chain of Hope was called just in time and they came to save me. I was rushed to the vet and given medicine to save me. I was on my road to recovery and I sent the first few days being hand fed by the Chain of Hope team and sleeping on an elevated, heated bed. Within a week or so, I gained over 10 pounds. I was also heartworm positive and last week, I went through treatment and am feeling so much better! Now that I am healthy and a good weight, I am ready to find my forever home! I am a very loving boy and super smart. I am house trained, kennel trained, and I love to be around people. I do need a home with no cats and no dogs, but would be the PERFECT companion for someone looking for an only dog. I have so much love to give! I love when the volunteers some see me that my tail goes in circles like a helicopter! I am currently in a foster home and loving it but would REALLY love a FOREVER home. If you are interested in meeting me, please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once received someone from our team will be right with you. **Currently in a foster home and doing great! **Local Adoption Only - Kansas City Area** Adoption fee includes deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. Hi, I’m Denny! I’m a cute smaller Shepard/Pit mix that is about 6 years old. While I am about 6 years old, I still look young and have the energy of a pup! You see, Chain of Hope has been a part of my story for a long time and finally, after a lot of time on a chain outside and a month at KCPP, I’m here! Since my life has been a little rough, it took me time to warm up but now, I’m beginning to trust people. I love to play and absolutely love sausage biscuits, peanut butter, and squirt cheese. Let me tell you, I’m very food motivated and will learn quickly with some extra treats! If you’re looking for a medium size dog that can bring lots of fun and energy to your mix, definitely look at me! Greta is a super sweet 2 year old pittie mix. She was found as a stray on the side of the road, at night, sick with parvo. She beat it, though - she is one strong little girl! Greta is VERY shy around new people, especially men. But once she warms up to you (treats help!), then you are friends for good! Greta really enjoys playing with the other dogs. She can play hard, but settle down and cuddle, too. She is looking for a home that understands she is shy in the beginning. She would do best in a home where her primary care giver is a female. She is potty trained, crate trained, and knows several commands. She has never been around small kids. She's a bit too interested in cats so she'll need a feline-free home. Greta is currently in The Pet Connection's board and train program - she is doing great! The Pet Connection will provide training skills and advice to Greta's adopters to ensure her continued success. If you have questions about Greta, please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. If you're interested in meeting Greta, please submit an adoption application on the Chain of Hope website and a volunteer will contact you within a few days.
