Adoptable Dogs

When you adopt a dog from Chain of Hope, you are giving a dog a second chance at life. We bring in some of the worse neglect and abuse cases in Kansas City, MO. You will be amazed at the transformation a dog goes through from suffering on a chain to now living in your home where they don’t have to worry about when their next meal will be. They will give you nothing but unconditional love.

We do charge an adoption fee since most of the cases we bring in require extensive medical needs. The adoption fee also helps keep our doors open so that we may continue on with our mission.

Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00.

This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

To adopt an animal, please see our

Chain of Hope on Petfinder.

Cash is a super, one year old Pit Bull. He is fun-loving, out-going, loves people and other dogs. He is big, strong and makes us laugh everyday! His nickname is Froggie, he's so cute! He is crate-trained, house-trained, and listens well. Cash is pretty much still a big puppy! He loves to run and play in the yard with other dogs, but will come in and settle down as well. We love his personality! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Cash, please go to http://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-pets/. Local adoptions only please!

Tequila, Tiki, Tiki-Tot, Tiki-Potato-Hut are all synonymous for the happiest dog around. She will bring nothing but joy and maybe some muddy paw prints into your home. Tiki comes from a situation of a home of too many pets in which her health issues fell by the wayside. Thankfully she was picked up by Chain of Hope where she could began her road to recovery. When the volunteers at COH look at Tiki, they don't see a patchy-fur, goopy- eye girl, they see a doggo that really wants her belly rubbed and maybe a treat and a toy. Tiki is currently in foster where she is enjoying healthy meals, daily rubs with coconut oil for her skin, and afternoon romps around the yard with her foster siblings. Tiki is no ordinary dog and she is looking for no ordinary home. She needs daily snuggles along with eye-drops (which she takes like a champ). Tiki has also been diagnosed with heart worms and has begun pre-treatment and will complete treatment in the upcoming weeks. Life has just kept dealing this beautiful girl obstacles but she beats them every time. If you have the heart to give this girl the best remaining years of her life, she has the antics to keep you rolling with laughter and joy.

Hi! I'm Lady Bug, some of my friends call me Lady B. I'm a senior gal just looking for a home. The volunteers at Chain of Hope say i'm the sweetest gal around. My hobbies include: laying in the sun, getting pets, eating delicious food and laying in the sun. I'm the acting "room mom" here in the Senior room at COH. Some of the others are so messy when they eat so I have to clean their faces and make sure they don't have any food stuck in their teeth after breakfast and dinner... you know what they say "a mothers work is never done". If you are interested in loving me and have a place in the sun for me to lay please go to www.chainofhopekc.org to fill out an application. Currently in a foster home with other dogs and doing great!

Crosby is a very special boy. Chain of Hope rescued him 4 yrs. ago from a back yard where he hadn't been touched in over a year. He was a matted mess-so bad that we could barely tell what was the front of him and what was the back! It took a lot of love and patience from a whole lot of people to bring Crosby along. He finally made enough progress that he was adopted into the home of a young married couple. They understood Crosby's issues. Their only concern was that if they ever had a baby, Crosby might not be able to handle a little one crawling around and possibly pulling his fur or something like that. Well, 4 yrs. later, the couple have had a baby and they eventually called and said that Crosby wasn't working out with the baby. They were devastated, but we'd all known all along that it may not work out if a baby came into the picture. Crosby came back to Chain of Hope after 4 yrs. just a few months ago. It was so great to see him again! He comes up to us for soft pets and kind words. He loves going out in the play yard and hanging with the other dogs. He is available for adoption again, but it has to be the right house. Crosby needs someone that will understand his quirks and let him live his life. It’s just a given that he has to be groomed at a vet, while under sedation. We use a long-acting ear ointment in his ears so that we don’t have to attempt to put that in every day. Like a lot of Cockers, Crosby has an ear infection once in a while. It's totally manageable, though. Other than that, Crosby is just a normal, happy dog! He would do best in a less chaotic home. He’s about 8 yrs. old now and getting a little gray. He is house-trained and very well behaved. We wouldn’t put him with small children just for the fact that if they pulled his hair or something, he would not like that. Crosby is a very, very sweet dog. He gives us kisses now, comes right up for love and attention and never has a problem with another dog or cat. If Crosby sounds like a wonderful cocker that you may be interested in giving a true, forever home to, please give us a call at 816-221-8080 or fill out an application at https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/. This very special boy might just fit into your household very nicely.

Jovie is a 2-year old lab mix who came to us as a stray. She's a larger gal (about 80 lbs) with a lot of love to give! She enjoys playing with other dogs but isn't a fan of cats. She is one of our longest residents at Chain of Hope and is more than ready for a forever home. She is best in a home with older children due to size. Currently in a foster home and doing great. She is house trained, kennel trained, loves to go for walks and is great on a leash. If you are interested in adopting Jovie, please submit an application on our website and one of our volunteers will contact you. www.chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/

Ben is a high energy young lab mix who LOVES to play with other dogs. He was found as a stray by a good samaritan who contacted Chain of Hope. Ben was extremely thin when he came to us but gained weight quickly and has no health issues currently. He can be a bit selfish when it comes to his food and treats. Because of this, we feel he'd do best in a home without young kids. Best suited with dogs his size or larger due to playfulness. Cat friendly :) House / kennel trained. 35-40lbs 8-10 months old Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. Hello, my name is Chloe or Queen Chloe if you ask my foster mom. I’m a beautiful white and orange, senior kitty cat. My favorite activities are napping in the sun, getting my ears scratched, and eating. Foster mom calls me Queen Chloe because I will let you know if I need anything, she says I’m a bit chatty, but really I just say “Good Morning, where is my breakfast?” and “How was your day at work, where is my dinner?”. I love being around people, sitting in laps, getting pets, and giving nose boops There are a couple of dogs that live in my foster home; I really can’t be bothered with them, the dirty creatures that they are. I will walk past them, investigate their food bowls, and drink out of their water dish. Though if one of them gets a little closer than I would like, I let out a bit of a hiss to let them know I’m not amused with their shenanigans. I’m looking for a home with plenty of napping spots, someone to give me all the loving that I have grown accustomed to and who doesn’t mind that I’m a messy eater. If this sounds like you, let my friends at Chain of Hope know; we can arrange a meet and greet. www.chainofhopekc.org

Liam is just coming up on a yr. old and he is a delightful young boy! He is very playful, energetic, well-behaved and crate-trained. Liam is a white lab/pit bull mix, weighing in at about 60 lbs. He has the cutest facial expressions, he just has a happy face. Liam came into our program after being with a few different inadequate owners. He was bounced around to different homes as a growing puppy, through no fault of his own. He has finally landed at Chain of Hope where he is receiving lots of TLC and some training. We are just working on a couple of things like not jumping-typical puppy stuff! Liam would do best with another dog to play with-he really enjoys playing with other dogs and does great! If you would be interested in fostering or adopting Liam, plz go to https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/ to find both apps. Local adoptions only plz!

Meet Bane! He is a fabulous pit bull, about 5 yrs. old. He has the most adorable face around-look at that big smile! Bane weighs about 65 lbs. and is just now being introduced to other dogs and is doing very well. Bane came into our program after being with his owner for 3 yrs. and then the owner moved to where he couldn't have Bane, so he chained him up at his mother's house. Bane has stayed almost 2 yrs., chained in her back yard. He was fed and watered and had shelter, but he was so bored and lonely and sad. We were finally able to bring Bane to Chain of Hope and he is having the time of his life! He is so happy to be here, to go for walks, to get love and attention. We love this boy! To fill our a foster or adoption app, please go to : https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/ to find both apps. Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. Hi, I'm Betty White! That's right-I'm named after that wonderful angel, animal advocate Betty White the actress. I'm so honored to be named after her! I am about 7 yrs. old. I didn't have a very happy life for many years and now I'm so glad to be at Chain of Hope. I get along with other dogs. It's all new to me to be around other dogs, but I do pretty well and I have a room mate name Zac that I hang out with. After being an outside only dog for so long, I am adjusting to being an indoor girl and I love it! I am a little anxious at times, but everyday I am getting more and more used to indoor things. I am house-trained. I go all night and sleep on my bed and don't tear up anything or potty in the house! I am a very good girl, if I don't say so myself! I am a great walker and love to go for walks! I am also an excellent ball chaser-just throw it as far as you can and I'll go get it! I haven't been around little children in my life, so I don't really know about them yet. If you would like to help me to keep progressing and to have many great years to come, I could sure use a foster or an adoptive home. To find both apps, please go to: https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/. I am finally having a happy life. Maybe I could live the rest of it with you? Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

Hi, I'm Sid! I was rescued by Chain of Hope with my sister, Nancy. I am about 9 months old and weigh about 35 lbs. I get along with other dogs and love playing with all of my canine friends! I keep a clean kennel, I'm neutered, vaccinated, on flea prevention and heart worm prevention. My sister is much smaller than me, so I really thought I was her protector and I watched over her. Now, I know that I don't have to worry about my sis anymore. Now, I just get to be a dog and I am loving the joy and freedom of playing and getting attention and ear scratches. I am in a foster home and doing very well. I just might be the dog that you've been looking for! Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. Reba is a darling, medium sized shepherd mix. She is about 1.5 yrs old and is such a great dog! She is very puppy-like, she loves to run and play with other dogs. She is kennel-trained, house-trained and obedient. She is also funny, entertaining, and delightful! Reba weighs about 36 lbs. We are trying to put just a little more weight on her, so she will more likely be around 40 lbs. Reba was a little shy with people when she first came into our program-she had not really had enough attention in her previous home. She spent most of her time alone, in a garage. Well, she is having the time of her life at Chain of Hope with our big play yards and other dogs to play with! She loves our volunteers that come and give her some TLC. She is a great little girl! Gordon is a super cute little pit mix! He is about 12 weeks old now and is doing great in a foster home. Gordon was relinquished by his owners because he had parvo and they did not have any money, or even transportation. Chain of Hope took him to Mission Med Vet where he was treated for parvo and made it through! He's a survivor! Gordon is working on crate-training, but he's still a pretty little guy. He is happy, playing with another dog in his foster home. He lives with a young child and does great. Gordon will be neutered in the future when he grows a little more.
