Adoptable Dogs

When you adopt a dog from Chain of Hope, you are giving a dog a second chance at life. We bring in some of the worse neglect and abuse cases in Kansas City, MO. You will be amazed at the transformation a dog goes through from suffering on a chain to now living in your home where they don’t have to worry about when their next meal will be. They will give you nothing but unconditional love.

We do charge an adoption fee since most of the cases we bring in require extensive medical needs. The adoption fee also helps keep our doors open so that we may continue on with our mission.

Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00.

This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

To adopt an animal, please see our

Chain of Hope on Petfinder.

Crosby is a very special boy. Chain of Hope rescued him 4 yrs. ago from a back yard where he hadn't been touched in over a year. He was a matted mess-so bad that we could barely tell what was the front of him and what was the back! It took a lot of love and patience from a whole lot of people to bring Crosby along. He finally made enough progress that he was adopted into the home of a young married couple. They understood Crosby's issues. Their only concern was that if they ever had a baby, Crosby might not be able to handle a little one crawling around and possibly pulling his fur or something like that. Well, 4 yrs. later, the couple have had a baby and they eventually called and said that Crosby wasn't working out with the baby. They were devastated, but we'd all known all along that it may not work out if a baby came into the picture. Crosby came back to Chain of Hope after 4 yrs. just a few months ago. It was so great to see him again! He comes up to us for soft pets and kind words. He loves going out in the play yard and hanging with the other dogs. He is available for adoption again, but it has to be the right house. Crosby needs someone that will understand his quirks and let him live his life. It’s just a given that he has to be groomed at a vet, while under sedation. We use a long-acting ear ointment in his ears so that we don’t have to attempt to put that in every day. Like a lot of Cockers, Crosby has an ear infection once in a while. It's totally manageable, though. Other than that, Crosby is just a normal, happy dog! He would do best in a less chaotic home. He’s about 8 yrs. old now and getting a little gray. He is house-trained and very well behaved. We wouldn’t put him with small children just for the fact that if they pulled his hair or something, he would not like that. Crosby is a very, very sweet dog. He gives us kisses now, comes right up for love and attention and never has a problem with another dog or cat. If Crosby sounds like a wonderful cocker that you may be interested in giving a true, forever home to, please give us a call at 816-221-8080 or fill out an application at https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/. This very special boy might just fit into your household very nicely.

Ben is an energetic young lab mix who loves nothing more than to be next to your side. He was found as a stray by a good samaritan who contacted Chain of Hope. Ben was extremely thin when he came to us but gained weight quickly and has no health issues currently. He is currently in a foster home and doing great. He loves to go on walks and is good on a leash. He can be a bit selfish when it comes to his food, toys, and treats. Because of this, we feel he'd do best in a home without young kids. House / kennel trained. 40-50lbs 1 year old Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Ben, please submit an application on our website and one of our volunteers will contact you. https://chainofhopekc.org

Liam is around a year old and he is a delightful young boy! He is very playful, energetic, well-behaved and crate-trained. Liam is a white lab/pit bull mix, weighing in at about 65 lbs. He has the cutest facial expressions, he just has a happy face. Liam came into our program after being with a few different inadequate owners. He was bounced around to different homes as a growing puppy, through no fault of his own. He has finally landed at Chain of Hope where he is receiving lots of TLC and some training. We are just working on a couple of things like not jumping-typical puppy stuff! Liam would do best with another dog to play with-he really enjoys playing with other dogs and does great! If you would be interested in fostering or adopting Liam, plz go to https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/ to find both apps. Local adoptions only plz!

Meet Maeby 5 years old English Setter/Pointer Mix Healthy, spayed and up to date on shots Good with kids three and up Good with other dogs Currently in a foster home and doing great Maeby is a absolute joy! She is one of the sweetest dogs and she seems most happy getting snuggles. Such a sensitive dog. We nicknamed her Slinky due to her propensity to slink into our laps for cuddle time. Her favorite spots to lay are on the furniture and she hates having to get off a bed. She loves attention, especially physical, but she needs to be with kids 3 and up as babies make her nervous. Aside from being a little shy with new groups and protective toward strangers walking past her yard, she is highly social. She is an incredibly intelligent dog and understands commands quite well. Though she is a hunting breed, she has never hunted. She could however, with the right trainer become a hunter as it is her favorite past time. The squirrels and other critters in the backyard have to be on high alert when Maeby comes out because she is after them instantly. In fact her only major behavioral setback is the desire to explore and the minimal deterrent is the 4 foot fence. She would do well in a large yard with a privacy fence as she can clear a 4 foot fence. She goes on walks frequently since she never lacks energy but she pulls on a leash. She would need some training in this department. Traveling in a vehicle makes her a little nervous and she doesn't sit well when driving from one place to the next. She is house trained. She is also quite scared of storms and loves to be held when thunder strikes. She responds well to treats and generally eats well. While we have had her, she has mostly been a grazer without food competition with our other dog. Our other dog will be so sad to see her go, because they have a lot of fun playing hard and snuggling after a long day. Please helps us find Maeby a forever home, she deserves it. If you were interested in meeting Maeby please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have received your application someone from our team will be right with you.

Rober is the cutest, sweetest most lovable boy ever! He is a parvo survivor and is living life like a puppy now that he isn't sick anymore. He loves to run and play and jump and chase his ball. He is so little that it doesn't take to much of that running and jumping to wear himself out! This kid can/will sleep any where. His eyes are the prettiest amber color that go perfect with his fur. He has stolen our hearts and we know he will steal yours too. We are working on potty training and he is doing great with puppy pads. Rober is currently in a foster home with dogs, cats, and frequent visits from young kids. Frank came to us as a stray that was hit by a car. His hind leg was terribly injured and had to be amputated. You would never know that he was a tripod because he gets around like any other dog. Frank is also blind in one eye. He's probably not the best fit for a home with young kids. He is easily startled if you approach him from his blind side. He is around 7 - 8 years old; is super sweet and loves to cuddle. Frank is currently in a foster home with other dogs and doing great. House trained and kennel trained. June and her sister, Willow, were rescued by a wonderful couple that found out about some people living in their car with these 2 puppies. The puppies were very skinny and the people admitted that they couldn't care for them properly, so they gave them to the couple, who called Chain of Hope. These girls are fantastic! June is the dark brindle one and Willow is the brown and black one. They are about 4-5 months old and they are big! They are working on crate-training and house-training and doing very well! When June and Willow came to us, June was the braver of the two- she was the leader. Willow was pretty shy and followed June. They are in separate foster homes now, but with other dogs in the home and they are doing great! Willow has come out of her shell more and June is doing fantastic! June and Willow are vaccinated, wormed, and on flea prevention. They have put some weight on and will be spayed soon, along with getting micro-chipped.
