Adoptable Dogs

When you adopt a dog from Chain of Hope, you are giving a dog a second chance at life. We bring in some of the worse neglect and abuse cases in Kansas City, MO. You will be amazed at the transformation a dog goes through from suffering on a chain to now living in your home where they don’t have to worry about when their next meal will be. They will give you nothing but unconditional love.

We do charge an adoption fee since most of the cases we bring in require extensive medical needs. The adoption fee also helps keep our doors open so that we may continue on with our mission.

Chain of Hope’s adoption fees:

  • Puppies 1 and under – $250

  • Dogs between 1 and 10 – $200

  • Seniors 10 and up – $100

This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

Annie and Oakley are the sweetest bonded pair of Coonhound sisters. We believe that they have been together for their entire lives before being dumped in rural Missouri. They are about seven yrs. old and they are in perfect health! They are extremely friendly and loving girls. They love attention and everyone they meet! A wonderful person that worked at a vet clinic in rural Missouri rescued these two, after they were apparently dumped several months ago. No ID, no chips. She looked far and wide for an owner and could not find anyone who claimed these girls. She has boarded them at her vet clinic and made sure they were spayed, vaccinated, wormed, heart worm checked and had flea and heart worm prevention. She did everything, including bringing a 6 mo, supply of prevention meds for them. She truly cared about these girls and saved their lives. It can be so hard for rural rescuers to find help. Thankfully, we were in a position at the right time to take in these two wonderful girls and we're so glad we did! They are awesome! They both weigh around 75-80 lbs. They are house-trained and are both as sweet as can be. It's s funny to watch them walk around the play yard with their noses straight up in the air! If you can offer these two gorgeous girls a forever home, please fill out an application! In the pictures, Annie has the pink collar and weighs 81 lbs. Oakley has the red collar and weighs 75 lbs Annie and Oakley would make a wonderful addition to any hound lover's home. **Local Adoption Only - Kansas City Area** Adoption fee includes deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. Hi, I'm Franny! I am a terrier mix that has been in some tough situations. I have been bounced around from house to house and was never given the love I needed. I was scared, confused, and didn't know what was happening the day that Chain of Hope came to rescue me. Little did I know, that was the beginning of a new life for me! It took me a few days to get acclimated. I was terrified and no one had ever showed me love before, so I didn't know what it felt like. After a few days, I allowed some of the Chain of Hope people in and I have been a different dog ever since! I am still slow to warm up, but I am definitely learning to trust people and that they are there to love me. I am good with other dogs and am so excited to find my new forever home. I love to give kisses and sit in your lap, just to show you how grateful I am! I love to play with other dogs and would love a doggy sibling. Currently in a foster home with cats and doing great. I love to go for car rides and walks. If you are interested in meeting me, please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once received someone from our team will be right with you. **Local Adoption Only - Kansas City Area** Adoption fee includes deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. Hi, I’m Junior and I am the cutest senior beagle you will ever see! I am about 8 or 9 years old, but am just as happy as can be now that I am in a foster home. I am almost completely blind in my left eye and have limited sight in my right eye, but with daily eye drops, Dr. Keil hopes to keep me comfortable and for it not to progress. Trust me, my eyesight doesn't slow me down. I LOVE people and am good with dogs and cats, but my FAVORITE thing is going outside. As soon as that door open to go outside, I do the cutest little happy run (or so I am told). Sunny days are truly my favorite! I am such a good boy and would love a warm bed, a sunny yard, and a family to love me. If you are interested in meeting me, please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once received someone from our team will be right with you. *Currently in a foster home with other dogs and doing great. *Loves to go for car rides and walks, good on a leash. *Good with dogs, cats and kids *Would prefer a home with minimal stairs *Finished heartworm treatment end of April *Local Adoption Only - Kansas City Area** Adoption fee includes deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. Hi, my name is Apollo! You may have seen some of my photos when I was first rescued by Chain of Hope. My story and the pictures were pretty sad, but I am healed and love to be around people. See back in the winter, Chain of Hope was called, and I was almost frozen to death. I lived a life outside (even during cold months) and when it was in the negatives, I basically was frozen and extremely malnourished. Luckily, Chain of Hope was called just in time and they came to save me. I was rushed to the vet and given medicine to save me. I was on my road to recovery and I sent the first few days being hand fed by the Chain of Hope team and sleeping on an elevated, heated bed. Within a week or so, I gained over 10 pounds. I was also heartworm positive and last week, I went through treatment and am feeling so much better! Now that I am healthy and a good weight, I am ready to find my forever home! I am a very loving boy and super smart. I am house trained and kennel trained but does not need one. I can be left alone in the house and I do not chew on things. I love to be around people and kids. I do need a home with no cats and no dogs, but would be the PERFECT companion for someone looking for an only dog. I have so much love to give! I love when the volunteers some see me that my tail goes in circles like a helicopter! I love to go on car rides and walks and learning how to walk on a leash. I am currently in a foster home and loving it but would REALLY love a FOREVER home. If you are interested in meeting me, please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once received someone from our team will be right with you. **Currently in a foster home and doing great! **Good with kids **Local Adoption Only - Kansas City Area** Adoption fee includes deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. Hi, I’m Denny! I’m a cute smaller Shepherd/Pit mix that is about 6 years old. While I am about 6 years old, I still look young and have the energy for long walks and maybe even a jog! You see, Chain of Hope has been a part of my story for a long time and finally, after a lot of time on a chain outside and a month at KCPP, I’m here! Since my life has been a little rough, it takes me a bit to warm up but now, I’m beginning to trust people. I love to play with toys and absolutely love sausage biscuits, peanut butter, and squirt cheese. Let me tell you, I’m very food motivated and will learn quickly with some extra treats! If you’re looking for a medium size dog that is forever grateful for the simple things in life, definitely look at me!
