Adoptable Dogs

When you adopt a dog from Chain of Hope, you are giving a dog a second chance at life. We bring in some of the worse neglect and abuse cases in Kansas City, MO. You will be amazed at the transformation a dog goes through from suffering on a chain to now living in your home where they don’t have to worry about when their next meal will be. They will give you nothing but unconditional love.

We do charge an adoption fee since most of the cases we bring in require extensive medical needs. The adoption fee also helps keep our doors open so that we may continue on with our mission.

Chain of Hope’s adoption fees:

  • Puppies 1 and under – $250

  • Dogs between 1 and 10 – $200

  • Seniors 10 and up – $100

This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

Ben is an energetic young lab mix who loves nothing more than to be next to your side. He was found as a stray by a good samaritan who contacted Chain of Hope. Ben was extremely thin when he came to us but gained weight quickly and has no health issues currently. He is currently in a foster home and doing great. He loves to go on walks and is good on a leash. He can be a bit selfish when it comes to his food, toys, and treats. Because of this, we feel he'd do best in a home without young kids. House / kennel trained. 40-50lbs 1 year old Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. If you are interested in adopting Ben, please submit an application on our website and one of our volunteers will contact you. https://chainofhopekc.org

Keys is a happy-go-lucky, playful, happy boy! If you have a dog that needs a companion and needs to play, Keys is your man! He's about a year old, he is obedient, crate-trained and super cute! Keys weighs about 75 lbs. He is strong, but always happy! He loves playing with other dogs, he loves his treats and his frozen bone he gets at night when he kennels for bedtime! Keys is great with everyone, but may accidentally knock down a small child, just because of his size and energy. He is a great boy! Keys came to Chain of Hope because his owner was moving and was going to leave him behind in a kennel in their now vacant house. Not on our watch! We went and got this boy and we sure are glad he's with us now. He makes us laugh everyday! If you are interested in meeting Keys please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have received your application someone from out team will be right with you. Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. Tate is a 4 yr. old yellow lab. He is great with other dogs, cats and older kids. Tate lived on a tie-out cable for quite a while. The family could not keep him inside, so he had a lonely life, tied up in the back yard. That is, until Chain of Hope came along! After speaking with the family, they decided that this was no life for Tate and they signed him over to us. Tate is a happy, well-adjusted, big boy. He weighs about 75 lbs. He is in a play group with other large dogs and does great! He really loves people, though! He is very affectionate, loving, and playful. As long as he's with his people, he's good! If you are interested in meeting Tate please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have received your application someone from out team will be right with you. Foster Update: Serena has been in foster for about a week now and has really blossomed. She has 2 foster K-9 brothers and a human foster sister and is doing great! She loves to play with her stuffy toys and get butt scratches as much as possible. *From her foster mom: "She is great in a home, she comes when called, is eager to learn and house trained" Update: Serena has completed her heart worm treatment and is doing great! Ready for her new home! Serena lived in the inner city. She was owned, but was allowed to just roam the neighborhood. She had had 3 litters of puppies. After animal control had to get involved, the owner ended up signing Serena over to Chain of Hope. We're so happy she did! Serena had to get used to being an indoor dog. She was not used to it at all. Now she is house-trained, kennel-trained and is blossoming! She was pretty shy when we first brought her to our facility, but now she is a social butterfly! She plays with several different dogs and does great. She used to be scared of new people, but is learning to relax, trust and let her hair down! Serena is now spayed and vaccinated. She tested positive for heart worms ( as many of our rescued dogs do), has been on her pre-meds and will have her injections around the middle of September. If you're interested in Serena, we can explain in more detail about her heart worm treatment. When Serena was an outdoor-only dog, she had fly strike on both of her ears very badly. The relentless flies get on outside dogs' ears and even with a small dot of blood started, they just start eating their ears. That is what happened to Serena. Her ears looked like raw hamburger they were so bad. Because of that, Serena has scarring on both ears that will probably always be there and never grow hair. They look hot pink now because they are still finishing up healing. We just tell her how cute she is and how her scars match her pink collar and she's beautiful! Serena weighs right around 50 lbs. She is good with both dogs and cats. If you are interested in meeting Serena please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have received your application someone from out team will be right with you. Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. Local adoptions only please!

Eileen is a super little girl! She is just perfect-she gets along with other dogs, she is crate and house-trained, she is very loving, too. Eileen came to us after she was hit by a car and had 2 broken legs on the same side! Her owner abandoned her at the vet and the vet went ahead and repaired her legs. Then they called us to see if we could take her into our program, which we did. Eileen had pins in both of her legs on her left side. She was amazing at getting around and she would often stand beside us and lean on us. That's how she got her name, Eileen! Eileen has recovered very well and can run like the wind. She loves laying in the sun and she absolutely is crazy about balls! She has a beautiful smile and she is always smiling! We just love this girl. She is very resilient and sweet. She deserves a great home, especially with all she's been through. If you are interested in meeting Eileen please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have received your application someone from out team will be right with you. Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. Honey Bunny is a senior pit bull and she is the sweetest thing you'll ever meet. Honey Bunny and her owner became homeless. Mabel is a 2 1/2 year old brindle Lab/Boxer/Hound mix. She weights about 63 pounds and is healthy. She is house trained, kennel trained but does not need it. She can be left loose in a home without any destruction. She is very smart and a good listener. Mabel has had formal training with KC Elite Dog Training. She knows "off', "down", "sit""kennel up", "up" "this way" "wait" and fetches. She comes when called. She is an epic cuddler and loves to snuggle. She loves Bar K and the dog park. Mabel enjoys hiking, tug of war, fetch and find, peanut butter and loves rough housing. But really loves cuddling and belly rubs. She is good with kids but because of her size we would recommend not putting her in a home with any children under the age of 8. Mabel is being re-homed due to her dad is moving to Austin and is unable to take her. If you are interested in meeting Mabel please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application.
