Adoptable Dogs

When you adopt a dog from Chain of Hope, you are giving a dog a second chance at life. We bring in some of the worse neglect and abuse cases in Kansas City, MO. You will be amazed at the transformation a dog goes through from suffering on a chain to now living in your home where they don’t have to worry about when their next meal will be. They will give you nothing but unconditional love.

We do charge an adoption fee since most of the cases we bring in require extensive medical needs. The adoption fee also helps keep our doors open so that we may continue on with our mission.

Chain of Hope’s adoption fees:

  • Puppies 1 and under – $250

  • Dogs between 1 and 10 – $200

  • Seniors 10 and up – $100

This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

Let me introduce myself… I’m Ben. You know, some dogs need to be surrounded by friends, but me, all I need is a life long companion. What can I say? I’m needy and want all the love to myself, but there’s a reason why I’m selfish with my love. You see, I was found at a low point in my life at a young age. We won’t get into details, but let’s just say I had it rough and was found by some really, awesome people. Now that I am older, I have the right to say I am a searching to be the main squeeze in someone’s life and to be a little selfish, which is why, I prefer no competition with other animals or kids. That being said, I am ready to give all my love to a special someone. I am obedient and know how to sit, stay, and what down means, and I know that we only potty outdoors. I love car rides, walks, and LOVE to play fetch. With an abundance of activity and love to give, what more could you want? Ben is currently in a foster home and doing great! He loves to go for walks and is great on the leash. Car rides are his favorite! Ideal Match: My ideal match will understand I have only child syndrome. I’m not looking for doggy, kitty, or human siblings. My ideal match would take me on car rides and walks and give me some cuddles in between. In the summer, I would love to have a kiddy pool, but we can talk about that when it comes time. I want a companion that sees me as their one and only. I promise once you get to know me, you wont need another. If you are interested in meeting me, please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once received someone from our team will be right with you. **Local Adoption Only - Kansas City Area** Adoption fee includes deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

Greta is a pittie mix around 8 to 10 months old. She was found as a stray on the side of the road, at night, sick with parvo. She beat it, though - she is one strong little girl! Greta is VERY shy around new people, especially men. But once she warms up to you, then you are friends for good! Greta LOVES playing with the other dogs in her foster home. She can play hard, but settle down and cuddle, too. She is looking for a home that understands she is shy in the beginning. Another dog really helps bring her out of her shell. Therefore, a home with another dog and a fenced yard to play in is a must to make her feel right at home! She is mostly potty trained and knows how to sit. We're working on leash walking skills. She is terrified when you first put on the harness and leash; she'll only walk if her foster dog siblings are next to her. She will not walk on leash alone with a male human. A fenced yard, another playful dog, and a female adult human in the home are all required for Greta's forever home. She has been adopted and returned once due to her extreme fear of men. She has been in an experienced foster home for nearly two months now. She still runs from her foster dad. We strive to find the right home for all of our adoptable dogs. Greta needs an experienced owner with time and patience to continue working on building her confidence. If you have questions or would like to speak with Greta's foster mom, please email your contact info to cohkcvolunteer@gmail.com and she will give you a call. Thanks! $250 Adoption fee includes spay, dewormer, vaccinations, rabies tag, microchip, heartworm test and heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Hi, I'm Divet and I am the cutest one-eyed girl you will ever meet. I came to Chain of Hope as an owner surrender due to a very bulged eye. Turns out the eye was dead and I was blind in it, so to prevent any discomfort, Chain of Hope helped me get it removed. Boy, that was a great day! I am completely healed and I don't let having one eye hold me down. I love to play with my foster doggy siblings, running around the yard or lazy playing on our backs. I am the sweetest, most cuddly girl, but for a 4 year old, I have a lot of energy. I love to cuddle in close and fall right to sleep, but I need a yard with a 6ft fence (as I can jump a 4ft) and preferably a doggy friend to play with. While I am in a foster home, I am learning some home obedience and how to be a good girl. I would love a family that would teach me more. I was adopted on April 24th, but after two weeks, they realized it just wasn't the right fit for them, so I was returned. They absolutely loved me during this time, but it just wasn't ideal and I had a bit too much energy. I do really well with other dogs and I think other dogs help me get acclimated. Also, while I love kids, I do prefer kids that are over 6 years old and have been around dogs before, just because I am a good sized dog and get the zoomies sometimes. If you're interested in meeting Divet, please submit an adoption application on Chain of Hope's website: www.chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/ Adoption fee includes spay, vaccinations, microchip, and one month of flea/tick/heartworm prevention. ** Requires a 6ft fence** * Good with children, dogs and cats * Currently in a foster home * Local Adoptions Only Kansas City *

Hi, I'm Brody. I am one happy young boy, with a lot of energy. I was kept on a short chain for the beginning of my life, so once I got to Chain of Hope, I was very excited to run around and play. I am a beautiful all white, with just a few spots on my ear, which makes me probably one of the handsome guys out there. I am great with other dogs and love to play. I am heartworm positive right now, but don't worry, Chain of Hope says they will get me all better very soon. If you have another dog looking for a friend and you've got extra space to lay my head, let my people know!

Hi, I'm Lighnin'. I am a senior boy that was found roaming the streets. The awesome guy that saved me named me Lightnin' because of my speed in the streets... just kidding, I'm a slow guy! Little does he know, I wanted to get caught so I could have a home - boy did I trick him! Once I got picked up, I was happy to be in a cool place, with a bed. Chain of Hope noticed I had a bunch of tumors on me, so we went and got them checked out. Luckily they are not harmful and are just some fat pockets (HAHA). ...I also have arthritis so stairs are hard for me, but what stairs aren't for an 8-9 year old? I am a total ladies man. Sometimes men and little kids can make me a bit nervous, but I am a total mama's boy. I have boundaries and I will help you learn them if you are patient with me. My favorite activity is curling up on mom's lap for a nap. My perfect home will be on the quieter side where I can be a total couch potato. If you are interested in meeting me, please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once received someone from our team will be right with you. **Local Adoption Only - Kansas City Area** ** Currently in Foster with other dogs and kids** Adoption fee includes deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

Hi, I'm Bruiser. I'm a beautiful guy that has quite the story. Sadly, I was shot in my behind. I am healing right now at Chain of Hope and getting a lot of love. I have a very large hematoma on my belly, but I know that I will get better soon. I am a happy guy and love to give kisses, and would love a family of my own to love me and let me snuggle in close. I love other dogs and would love to have a doggy sibling to play with. I’m a big boy and can jump a 4ft fence, so I would need a 6ft fence. Hi, I'm Fritz. I am a Rottweiler mix and an probably around 8-9 years old, but who's counting? I had a rough beginning in life and either lived in a pen or a chain, outside, for the last 8 years. Luckily, Chain of Hope came to my rescue and I am loving the freedom of a yard! I am a sweet boy that loves people and loves treats! I have a very unique black tongue, that I love to let hang. If you are looking for a happy, loving boy, I may be the perfect one! I am heart worm positive and will go through treatment middle of June. If you are interested in meeting me, please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Hi, I'm Lyla! I was found by Chain of Hope as a stray. I am a beautiful 1 to 2 year old smaller pit mix that loves to play. I love toys so much and I love that I have so many of them at Chain of Hope. I was recently spayed and will go through heartworm treatment in June. I also came in with a tumor, that you may see in my pictures, but that has been removed and I am all healed. I am a sweet girl, that loves to snuggle, but after a rough start, as a little skiddish with quick movements. If you are looking for a smaller, beauty to be your cuddly hippo... look at me! I am perfect! If you are interested in meeting me, please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Hi, I'm Frankfurt and I am an 8-9 year old, 98 pound, all white, handsome, Husky/German Shepard mix. I was an owner surrender, due to my owner not being able to care for me any longer. I am house trained and will do just about anything for a treat. I love other dogs and squeaky toys. (Actually, I love all toys.) I am very chill inside, but as soon as you let me out, I love to run around. I would love a big, fenced in yard to play in. I, also, love walks, but tend to pull a little bit, so some training or an easy leader may be good for me. If you are looking for a big guy, who still loves to play, and LOVES to snuggle, I am your guy! If you are interested in meeting me, please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application.
