Adoptable Dogs

When you adopt a dog from Chain of Hope, you are giving a dog a second chance at life. We bring in some of the worse neglect and abuse cases in Kansas City, MO. You will be amazed at the transformation a dog goes through from suffering on a chain to now living in your home where they don’t have to worry about when their next meal will be. They will give you nothing but unconditional love.

We do charge an adoption fee since most of the cases we bring in require extensive medical needs. The adoption fee also helps keep our doors open so that we may continue on with our mission.

Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00.

This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

To adopt an animal, please see our

Crosby is a very special boy. Chain of Hope rescued him 4 yrs. ago from a back yard where he hadn't been touched in over a year. He was a matted mess-so bad that we could barely tell what was the front of him and what was the back! It took a lot of love and patience from a whole lot of people to bring Crosby along. He finally made enough progress that he was adopted into the home of a young married couple. They understood Crosby's issues. Their only concern was that if they ever had a baby, Crosby might not be able to handle a little one crawling around and possibly pulling his fur or something like that. Well, 4 yrs. later, the couple have had a baby and they eventually called and said that Crosby wasn't working out with the baby. They were devastated, but we'd all known all along that it may not work out if a baby came into the picture. Crosby came back to Chain of Hope after 4 yrs. just a few months ago. It was so great to see him again! He comes up to us for soft pets and kind words. He loves going out in the play yard and hanging with the other dogs. He is available for adoption again, but it has to be the right house. Crosby needs someone that will understand his quirks and let him live his life. It’s just a given that he has to be groomed at a vet, while under sedation. We use a long-acting ear ointment in his ears so that we don’t have to attempt to put that in every day. Like a lot of Cockers, Crosby has an ear infection once in a while. It's totally manageable, though. Other than that, Crosby is just a normal, happy dog! He would do best in a less chaotic home. He’s about 8 yrs. old now and getting a little gray. He is house-trained and very well behaved. We wouldn’t put him with small children just for the fact that if they pulled his hair or something, he would not like that. Crosby is a very, very sweet dog. He gives us kisses now, comes right up for love and attention and never has a problem with another dog or cat. If Crosby sounds like a wonderful cocker that you may be interested in giving a true, forever home to, please give us a call at 816-221-8080 or fill out an application at https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/. This very special boy might just fit into your household very nicely.

Ben is an energetic young lab mix who loves nothing more than to be next to your side. He was found as a stray by a good samaritan who contacted Chain of Hope. Ben was extremely thin when he came to us but gained weight quickly and has no health issues currently. He is currently in a foster home and doing great. He loves to go on walks and is good on a leash. He can be a bit selfish when it comes to his food, toys, and treats. Because of this, we feel he'd do best in a home without young kids. House / kennel trained. 40-50lbs 1 year old Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention. If you are interested in adopting Ben, please submit an application on our website and one of our volunteers will contact you. https://chainofhopekc.org

She's a beautiful, brindle lab mix, weighing in at about 50 lbs. If you are interested in meeting Gemma please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Keys is a happy-go-lucky, playful, happy boy! If you have a dog that needs a companion and needs to play, Keys is your man! He's about a year old, he is obedient, crate-trained and super cute! Keys weighs about 65 lbs. He is strong, but always happy! He loves playing with other dogs, he loves his treats and his frozen bone he gets at night when he kennels for bedtime! Keys is great with everyone, but may accidentally knock down a small child, just because of his size and energy. He is a great boy! Keys came to Chain of Hope because his owner was moving and was going to leave him behind in a kennel in their now vacant house. Not on our watch! We went and got this boy and we sure are glad he's with us now. He makes us laugh everyday! If you are interested in meeting Keys please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have received your application someone from out team will be right with you. Update: Serena has completed her heart worm treatment and is doing great! Ready for her new home! Serena lived in the inner city. She was owned, but was allowed to just roam the neighborhood. She had had 3 litters of puppies. After animal control had to get involved, the owner ended up signing Serena over to Chain of Hope. We're so happy she did! Serena had to get used to being an indoor dog. She was not used to it at all. Now she is house-trained, kennel-trained and is blossoming! She was pretty shy when we first brought her to our facility, but now she is a social butterfly! She plays with several different dogs and does great. She used to be scared of new people, but is learning to relax, trust and let her hair down! Serena is now spayed and vaccinated. She tested positive for heart worms ( as many of our rescued dogs do), has been on her pre-meds and will have her injections around the middle of September. If you're interested in Serena, we can explain in more detail about her heart worm treatment. When Serena was an outdoor-only dog, she had fly strike on both of her ears very badly. The relentless flies get on outside dogs' ears and even with a small dot of blood started, they just start eating their ears. That is what happened to Serena. Her ears looked like raw hamburger they were so bad. Because of that, Serena has scarring on both ears that will probably always be there and never grow hair. They look hot pink now because they are still finishing up healing. We just tell her how cute she is and how her scars match her pink collar and she's beautiful! Serena weighs right around 50 lbs. She is good with both dogs and cats. If you are interested in meeting Serena please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have received your application someone from out team will be right with you. Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00. Rayna is an energetic loving Labrador retriever... if its ball, play, run, swim, hike then shes your girl! She is a pro at playing fetch, but could use a little work on her leash manners. She is house and crate trained. She does well with children but can accidentally knock them over sometimes as she doesn't quite understand personal space. She would do best with older kids. Plays well with other dogs but normally prefers to play with humans and toys. After playtime she is a very loving, sweet dog and would be a great addition to any active family! If you are interested in meeting Rayna please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have received your application someone from out team will be right with you.
