Adoptable Dogs

When you adopt a dog from Chain of Hope, you are giving a dog a second chance at life. We bring in some of the worse neglect and abuse cases in Kansas City, MO. You will be amazed at the transformation a dog goes through from suffering on a chain to now living in your home where they don’t have to worry about when their next meal will be. They will give you nothing but unconditional love.

We do charge an adoption fee since most of the cases we bring in require extensive medical needs. The adoption fee also helps keep our doors open so that we may continue on with our mission.

Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00.

This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

To adopt an animal, please see our

Chain of Hope on Petfinder.

Jovie is a wonderful black lab mix, about a year old. She is fun, active, obedient and loves playing with other dogs. She is almost crate-trained and is learning to walk on a leash and doing well! Jovie was found with her friend DJ, who was recently adopted. They had apparently been abandoned and were hanging out together in a neighborhood in the inner city. They were pretty thin when Chain of Hope rescued them, but they are flourishing now! Jovie is a beautiful girl and she is always smiling now! She would make anyone a great companion! She plays well with other dogs, loves to play with her toys and is very obedient. Jovie has a wonderful personality and has a lot of love to give. She prefers not to be friends with kitties, though! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Jovie, please go to http://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-pets/ to find both applications.

Cash is a super, one year old Pit Bull. He is fun-loving, out-going, loves people and other dogs. He is big, strong and makes us laugh everyday! His nickname is Froggie, he's so cute! He is crate-trained, house-trained, and listens well. Cash is pretty much still a big puppy! He loves to run and play in the yard with other dogs, but will come in and settle down as well. We love his personality! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Cash, please go to http://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-pets/. Local adoptions only please!

Tequila, Tiki, Tiki-Tot, Tiki-Potato-Hut are all synonymous for the happiest dog around. She will bring nothing but joy and maybe some muddy paw prints into your home. Tiki comes from a situation of a home of too many pets in which her health issues fell by the wayside. Thankfully she was picked up by Chain of Hope where she could began her road to recovery. When the volunteers at COH look at Tiki, they don't see a patchy-fur, goopy- eye girl, they see a doggo that really wants her belly rubbed and maybe a treat and a toy. Tiki is currently in foster where she is enjoying healthy meals, daily rubs with coconut oil for her skin, and afternoon romps around the yard with her foster siblings. Tiki is no ordinary dog and she is looking for no ordinary home. She needs daily snuggles along with eye-drops (which she takes like a champ). Tiki has also been diagnosed with heart worms and has begun pre-treatment and will complete treatment in the upcoming weeks. Life has just kept dealing this beautiful girl obstacles but she beats them every time. If you have the heart to give this girl the best remaining years of her life, she has the antics to keep you rolling with laughter and joy.

Hi, I'm Monty! I am a 1-2 yr. old, handsome lab/pit mix. I came into Chain of Hope terribly injured from a dog that had attacked me. I had a large gash on my face and it is healed very well, but leaving a scar that I may always have. I am loyal, well-behaved, sweet, affectionate, kennel-trained, house trained and super social (except cats). I am currently in a foster home with another older kind-of grumpy dog and doing great. I love to follow my people around the house and play with other dogs. I rarely bark. I'm smart and very trainable. I love to be outside, go for walks (learning leash manners) and play in the snow. I am neutered, ute on vaccinations, dewormed, on and flea prevention and micro-chipped. I am on heart worm protocol and will receive treatment Nov 19th and 20th. If you would be interested in bringing me home to your house, please go to https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/ and fill out an application. Local adoptions only please!

Phoebe is a very sweet 5 - 6 year old beagle. She's a petite girl, only weighs 17 lbs. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. She's potty trained and great with other dogs, cats, and kids. She's an easy going gal that enjoys being with people, rolling in the grass, and napping in the sun. Phoebe has eye issues which are common in beagles. She was blind in her right eye and had surgery to remove that eye on 10/22/18. She needs eye drops in her left eye twice daily for glaucoma. It is very likely she will eventually lose vision in her left eye as well. She may even need surgery to remove that eye if it becomes bothersome or painful in the future. It will be important for her to see Dr. Keil (veterinary opthamologist) every 2-3 months for check ups to monitor the pressure in that eye. Other than her eye/vision issues, she's a healthy and happy girl! She is currently in a foster home in Overland Park. If you are interested in adding Phoebe to your family, please submit an adoption application on our website and one of our volunteers will contact you. Thanks! www.chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/

Crosby is a very special boy. Chain of Hope rescued him 4 yrs. ago from a back yard where he hadn't been touched in over a year. He was a matted mess-so bad bad that we cold barely tell what was the front of him and what was the back! It took a lot of love and patience from a whole lot of people to bring Crosby along. He finally made enough progress that he was adopted into the home of a young married couple. They understood Crosby's issues. Their only concern was that if they ever had a baby, Crosby might not be able to handle a little one crawling around and possibly pulling his fur or something like that. Well, 4 yrs. later, the couple have had a baby and they eventually called and said that Crosby wasn't working out with the baby. They were devastated, but we'd all known all along that it may not work out if a baby came into the picture. Crosby came back to Chain of Hope after 4 yrs. just a couple of months ago. It was so great to see him again! He comes up to us for soft pets and kind words. He loves going out in the play yard and hanging with the other dogs. He is available for adoption again, but it has to be the right house. Crosby needs someone that will understand his quirks and let him live his life. It’s just a given that he has to be groomed at a vet, while under sedation. We use a long-acting ear ointment in his ears so that we don’t have to attempt to put that in every day. Like a lot of Cockers, Crosby has an ear infection once in a while. It's totally manageable, though. Other than that, Crosby is just a normal, happy dog! He would do best in a less chaotic home. He’s about 8 yrs. old now and getting a little gray. He is house-trained and very well behaved. We wouldn’t put him with small children just for the fact that if they pulled his hair or something, he would not like that. Crosby is a very, very sweet dog. He gives us kisses now, comes right up for love and attention and never has a problem with another dog or cat. Stay tuned for more pictures of Crosby today! If Crosby sounds like a wonderful cocker that you may be interested in giving a true, forever home to, please give us a call at 816-221-8080 or fill out an application at https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/. This very special boy might just fit into your household very nicely.

Charlie is a 3 year old Boxer mix. She is sweet, affectionate and smart girl! She will sit, shake and potty on command! She does okay in a kennel, but also does wonderfully at home without a kennel. She does not chew on things that are not dog toys (I don’t know how she knows the difference, but she does!). She is house trained and walks well on a leash. She is very social, loves to go everywhere that allows dogs. She loves all people, men, women, children and cats. She has been around infants too and was great. She enjoys interacting with other dogs and she loves the dog park! Although she is quite the couch potato at home, she loves to run and run at the dog park! She plays very well with other dogs, although she is vocal when playing as she is always trying to get other dogs to run with her. When playing at the park, she always checks in with her humans, never letting them out of sight. She would be an excellent running partner! She does bark occasionally when she hears someone at the door and sometimes when she sees another dog out the window, otherwise she is a quiet snuggle bug at home. Charlie doesn’t beg for food and lets her humans eat in peace. This girl can JUMP! A typical fence will not contain Ms. Charlie and it’s best to keep an eye on her if she is in a fenced in area. She gets very excited when her foster parents come home and they have been working on her not jumping when they arrive and she’s improving! Charlie was an owner surrender due to changing living arrangements for the owner, not due to any issues with Charlie herself. If you are interested in meeting this gem of a dog please visit www.chainofhopekc.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have received your application someone from our team will be right with you. Currently in a foster home
