Adoptable Dogs

When you adopt a dog from Chain of Hope, you are giving a dog a second chance at life. We bring in some of the worse neglect and abuse cases in Kansas City, MO. You will be amazed at the transformation a dog goes through from suffering on a chain to now living in your home where they don’t have to worry about when their next meal will be. They will give you nothing but unconditional love.

We do charge an adoption fee since most of the cases we bring in require extensive medical needs. The adoption fee also helps keep our doors open so that we may continue on with our mission.

Chain of Hope’s adoption fee is $200.00.

This includes: deworming, all vaccinations, rabies tag, micro-chip, spay/neuter, heart worm test, flea & tick prevention, and heart worm prevention.

To adopt an animal, please see our

Chain of Hope on Petfinder.

Cash is a super, one year old Pit Bull. He is fun-loving, out-going, loves people and other dogs. He is big, strong and makes us laugh everyday! His nickname is Froggie, he's so cute! He is crate-trained, house-trained, and listens well. Cash is pretty much still a big puppy! He loves to run and play in the yard with other dogs, but will come in and settle down as well. We love his personality! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Cash, please go to http://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-pets/. Local adoptions only please!

Tequila, Tiki, Tiki-Tot, Tiki-Potato-Hut are all synonymous for the happiest dog around. She will bring nothing but joy and maybe some muddy paw prints into your home. Tiki comes from a situation of a home of too many pets in which her health issues fell by the wayside. Thankfully she was picked up by Chain of Hope where she could began her road to recovery. When the volunteers at COH look at Tiki, they don't see a patchy-fur, goopy- eye girl, they see a doggo that really wants her belly rubbed and maybe a treat and a toy. Tiki is currently in foster where she is enjoying healthy meals, daily rubs with coconut oil for her skin, and afternoon romps around the yard with her foster siblings. Tiki is no ordinary dog and she is looking for no ordinary home. She needs daily snuggles along with eye-drops (which she takes like a champ). Tiki has also been diagnosed with heart worms and has begun pre-treatment and will complete treatment in the upcoming weeks. Life has just kept dealing this beautiful girl obstacles but she beats them every time. If you have the heart to give this girl the best remaining years of her life, she has the antics to keep you rolling with laughter and joy.

Hi! I'm Eddie, a 6 yr. old Boxer mix. I am a very good boy, but my family could not keep me anymore because of a family crisis. I am house-trained, kennel-trained, neutered, vaccinated and very well behaved. I weigh about 65 lbs. and have the best face ever! They tell me I'm comical looking and make them laugh and smile every day. I would love a new home for the rest of my life. Don't pass up a little bit older, well behaved, healthy, wonderful boy-me! I love to play with toys, chase balls and chew on pig ears! I'll be your best friend, stay right by your side and we can have the best life ever together! I really don't care for other dogs. I would like to be an only child and get all the attention! Whale what can we say about Janus! She came to us as a very obese neglected dog, however she has never shown anything but love since coming to us. She is so sweet, friendly, and grateful to receive love. Her heart is really made of gold! When Chain of Hope rescued Janus, she was dirty, her skin was terrible, she was over-weight and her nails were so long, they were starting to curl. Poor baby. Janus has had and is continuing to get the best of care and has made much progress! Janus has had a thorough medical work up and she is currently on a special diet to help her slowly shed her weight. Currently in a foster home with kids, cats and dogs and doing great! If you're interested in adopting Janus, please go to: https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/ to find the application.

Crosby is a very special boy. Chain of Hope rescued him 4 yrs. ago from a back yard where he hadn't been touched in over a year. He was a matted mess-so bad bad that we cold barely tell what was the front of him and what was the back! It took a lot of love and patience from a whole lot of people to bring Crosby along. He finally made enough progress that he was adopted into the home of a young married couple. They understood Crosby's issues. Their only concern was that if they ever had a baby, Crosby might not be able to handle a little one crawling around and possibly pulling his fur or something like that. Well, 4 yrs. later, the couple have had a baby and they eventually called and said that Crosby wasn't working out with the baby. They were devastated, but we'd all known all along that it may not work out if a baby came into the picture. Crosby came back to Chain of Hope after 4 yrs. just a couple of months ago. It was so great to see him again! He comes up to us for soft pets and kind words. He loves going out in the play yard and hanging with the other dogs. He is available for adoption again, but it has to be the right house. Crosby needs someone that will understand his quirks and let him live his life. It’s just a given that he has to be groomed at a vet, while under sedation. We use a long-acting ear ointment in his ears so that we don’t have to attempt to put that in every day. Like a lot of Cockers, Crosby has an ear infection once in a while. It's totally manageable, though. Other than that, Crosby is just a normal, happy dog! He would do best in a less chaotic home. He’s about 8 yrs. old now and getting a little gray. He is house-trained and very well behaved. We wouldn’t put him with small children just for the fact that if they pulled his hair or something, he would not like that. Crosby is a very, very sweet dog. He gives us kisses now, comes right up for love and attention and never has a problem with another dog or cat. Stay tuned for more pictures of Crosby today! If Crosby sounds like a wonderful cocker that you may be interested in giving a true, forever home to, please give us a call at 816-221-8080 or fill out an application at https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/. This very special boy might just fit into your household very nicely.

Meet Mikey! Mikey is a very sweet boy who was rescued by Chain of Hope after living on a chain for over 2 yrs. He lived a pretty sad life, but not anymore! He is about 3 yrs. old and is a shepherd mix. Mikey has the most adorable ears-one goes up and one goes down! Makes us smile everyday! Mikey gets along with other dogs just fine! He is obedient, crate-trained, house-trained and extremely sweet. Because Mikey lived on a chain for 2 yrs and was never brought inside, he has been transitioning to being an indoor dog at Chain of Hope. Although he started out very nervous (but never aggressive!), Mikey is slowly adjusting to being an indoor, cherished pet and he is loving every minute of it! Pistachio is a fun-loving, 4 1/2 mo. old American Bulldog puppy. She couldn't be any cuter! She gets along with all other dogs-big, small, doesn't matter. She is almost totally crate-trained and will be spayed in the near future. Pistachio's marking are adorable! Her face is killer! We love this little girl! She does have a slightly higher level of energy, but then will crash in her kennel for a nap! She would love a fenced yard and/or another dog to play with to help her expend her energy! Zac is a wonderful dog-we love him! He is about 3 yrs. old and is a lab mix. He is in a play group and doing great with the other dogs! He is crate-trained, house-trained, obedient, adorable and totally sweet! Zac came to us from a woman who was becoming homeless and she did not think it was fair to have Zac on the streets with her. When we went to pick him up, we discovered that he was 1/2 bald! His skin and coat looked terrible. It definitely looked like the pattern of a severe flea infestation. We treated him for that, gave him a medicated bath and put him on antibiotics for a secondary skin infection. Well, guess what? Zac is now neutered, vaccinated, on heart worm prevention, micro-chipped and is healing well! He is no longer on antibiotics and his hair is slowly growing in. He will be even more gorgeous in a few months when his hair is all in good. Don't let that appearance keep you from reaching out about Zac, though, because he has a super personality and is so happy to be at Chain of Hope receiving the help that he needed. Zac loves his toys, especially balls! He will play fetch all day! It is so great to see the joy that Zac is experiencing now that he has love and care. If you would be interested in fostering or adopting Zac, please go to https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/ to find both apps! Local adoptions only plz!

Roscoe is a very cute poodle mix, about one yr. old. He was on the streets, matted, dirty, starving and alone. Thank goodness our outreach team was able to get him. We got him all cleaned up, started him on his vaccinations and worming and he is putting on weight really well. When we rescued him, you could feel and see his back bone, ribs and hip bones. Not anymore-he's doing great! Roscoe is in a foster home with several other dogs and doing just fine. He only weighs about 5-10 lbs; right now, but he is still gaining some more weight. HE is house-trained, very affectionate and so cute! Roscoe also loves to go for walks and is great on a leash. He's the real deal! Meet Diego, a wonderful lab/pit mix, only about one year old. Chain of Hope was called because Diego had been hit by a car and had a severe foot injury. The people had no money to take him to the vet, so they signed Diego over to Chain of Hope. At first we thought Diego was going to need surgery, but our vets wanted to wait a bit and see if it started healing on it's own. It did! Diego avoided surgery and his foot is healing extremely well! Diego has had a hard start in life, but he is ready to move on to better things and land himself in his forever home! He is delightful, very puppy-like, and smart! Diego is kennel trained, house-trained, obedient and fun! He would love to have another dog to play with and/or a large, fenced yard to run and play in or a dedicated walker that needs a buddy! He is also a very affectionate boy, too! When it comes time to chill, snuggle and watch TV at night, he's there! We think Diego is adorable! He weighs about 40 lbs. right now and will still put on some weight, as he was too thin when we rescued him. We know someone is out there who wants to give Diego a 2nd start in life and this time it's going to be good! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Diego, please go to https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/ to find both apps! Local adoptions only plz!
